National Gallery Ateneum

Ateneum Art Museum presents the most extensive show of Kalevala art in decades.

The exhibition features more than 200 works from close to sixty artists, all inspired by the Finnish national epic. Come and meet Aino, Väinämöinen and Kullervo, the central characters of the story. Being the national gallery, Ateneum’s collection display features iconic works from the Wounded Angel to the Fighting Capercaillies. Autumn programme includes a grand exhibition of the work of Pablo Picasso, the most significant artist of the 20th century. This exhibition coming from the Picasso Museum in Paris is the main event in autumn’s arts calendar.
